Studio Membership

You’re invited to be authentically you in a body affirming space. The Fat Lady Sings Studio is an inclusive membership experience built on weekly one-on-one voice lessons for individualized learning, and community experiences with other singers like you.

  • I teach people who want to learn to sing in a body positive space! I teach people who want to uplift the voices of people in marginalized bodies. I teach singers looking for an inclusive studio environment that encourages and celebrates the identities and diverse backgrounds of my students. I teach people looking to bring their full authentic selves into their music.

I teach adult students who are looking to enrich their lives with singing, and want to rediscover (or discover for the first time!) their love of music.

I teach students who want to increase their understanding of their voice and abilities, and who want to invest in themselves. This includes singers who want to sing at a professional level, and singers who want to sing as a hobby, and singers at every level in between.

  • I teach out of my home studio in South St. Louis, MO. I teach in person or hybrid lessons with the opportunity for in person sessions and performances. I teach Tuesday-Saturday. Please get in touch for more information about location and scheduling.

  • I teach students who are interested in musical theater or classical music. While every genre has a place in the voice studio, these are the genres that I am most familiar with and specialize in. The majority of my students enjoy cross training between classical and musical theater styles. You don't have to have a lot of experience or knowledge of opera or Broadway, just an interest in learning!

The cornerstone of the Fat Lady Sings membership is one-on-one voice lessons. As a member of the studio, you will have weekly voice lessons to keep making progress towards your singing goals. Voice lessons are a collaborative process individualized around your interests and goals. Do you want to sing musical theater? Do you want to explore opera? Maybe some of both? Is there a role you’ve always wanted to sing but felt out of reach? Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to belt., or sing an Italian aria? Together we will take up space with your body and your voice. We will build vocal skills, explore musical expression, and discover characterization. You can expect to learn in a nurturing, encouraging, and individualized environment full of experimentation and fun!

One on One Voice Lessons

Group class is a workshop style class that allows you to meet other singers in the studio and learn from each other. During group classes you have the chance sing for each other, coach your songs, and watch other studio members workshop their performances. You will deepen your musical knowledge, gain confidence performing, and find community support. We also take time to discuss other aspects of singing. Special topics have ranged from choosing repertoire, to vocal health, to singing in a foreign language, to creating a character.

Community Events

As a Fat Lady Sings member, you will have access to the studio calendar and community events. Included in your membership is a studio field trip to a show at the St. Louis MUNY or Opera Theater of St. Louis. Community events also include quarterly studio performances such as coffeehouse showcases and open mic nights, and more intimate studio singing salons. Plus, you’ll get to meet and hang out with cool people like you!
